Mountain Hosts

Hosts come from all walks of life. Candidate training will challenge you and your abilities in amazing ways. And, Hosting can be a gateway to patrolling.

Our volunteer corp is comprised of National Ski Patrol members, with the prerequisite credential, Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC).

The first year requires a strong commitment, as the OEC course takes approximately 2 1/2 months of part-time training that fits the lifestyle and pace of working adults.

Next, a mandatory two-day, dry-land training weekend, covers skills and procedures, like: radio codes, knots and rope work, and general orientation.

Once the snow falls, Host Candidates undergo a few additional weekends of service training.
